RIP Sudan

Avery and Masa are heartbroken to share that Sudan, the world's last male northern white rhino has died.

Sudan, who was 45, passed away at Ol Pejeta Conservancy due to age-related complications. His death brings the subspecies a step closer to extinction, with his daughter and grandaughter now the only remaining northern white rhinos.  The bull had become a conservation icon, and ambassador for his species, and a reminder of the very real threat of poaching.  The loss of Sudan should act as a stark reminder of the need to protect our planet's wildlife, particularly those species that are put in a precarious position due to human actions.
