Mike is Creator-Author of the Avery and Masa ® Intellectual Property. Mike’s background as an elementary educator, youth mentor, author, and change-maker has prepared him to build a strong foundation for the Avery and Masa brand.

Mike is also the Founder of Protectors of the Endangered, an educational 501 (C) 3 focused on literacy. He has developed and implemented 3 core Impact Programs; Book Clubs, Home Libraries, Summer Camps, for Title 1 schools in Charlotte, NC.

The Adventures of Avery and Masa chapter book series serves as the content foundation aligning with STEAM based standards, resulting in an dynamic increase in 3rd grade literacy scores. Avery and Masa are highlighted as ambassadors for a love of reading, being kind to one another, and protecting our beautiful planet. Mike holds a BA in Education from San Diego State University with a specialization in Children’s Literature. He lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Sterling and their son, Dylan.

Fun Facts: He loves superheroes, sports, music & film, tacos, ocean views and sunsets.

Steve is Co-Author of the Avery and Masa ® Intellectual Property. Steve has a Master's in education, has taught English for over 13 years and works with students with learning disabilities. His passion is writing the Avery and Masa chapter book series to inspire kids to make a difference in their communities.

Steve lives in Southern California with his wife Betsy and daughter Lilly.

Fun Facts: He loves Star Wars, cheeseburgers, the beach and lilies.
